TBCHS Telehealth Counseling
Posted on April 18th, 2020
Hello:
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, TBCHS has been offering telehealth services for all school-based behavioral health patients and their families. We have a team of behavioral health providers who have been reaching out to our school-based patients and families to offer telehealth services. If the student/family does not have the capability for video, we can provide telephonic support. TBCHS will not contact the home of any student who previously requested confidential services. Any student age 14 or older (under Michigan law) can contact our call center directly at (989) 742-4583 to seek confidential counseling. We are paying close attention to ensure the confidentiality of these individuals. Our telehealth services allow TBCHS school-based behavioral health students to continue to receive counseling services on a sliding fee basis during the pandemic. When the Governor’s “Stay Home Stay Safe” order is lifted, our goal is to get our school-based counselors back into the school setting to continue telehealth services. Please share our call center number (989) 742-4583 for any student or family you feel may benefit from a telehealth visit. We appreciate it if you can share the information below across your websites or other means of student and family communications. As always, I am available at your convenience should you have any questions or concerns.
Thunder Bay Community Health Service, Inc. (TBCHS) has telehealth counseling services available during the COVID-19 pandemic. If a student/family does not have video capability, telephone support is available. Please call TBCHS at (989) 742-4583, and a counselor will assist you.

Self-care is important every day, but it is essential, especially during stressful times. Below is a link to some self-care options. Do one, or do as many as you want, throughout your day. Make your self-care a priority and make it fun. Do one item from this list daily. Or, try to do one of everything listed, daily. If you would like, you can use the Weekly Self-Care Checklist to track your self-care practice.
